The most secure is ” immediately” option. But the drawback with this option is, if you are receiving messages frequently, you may have to use your fingerprint to unlock your Whatsapp too often. So it is better to go with “After 1 minute” option.
Error Notification ? Don’t worry —
There can be some errors while activating this fingerprint lock in Whatsapp. If you see the error -“To use this feature, you will need to set up your fingerprint on your phone first“.
This error means, you have not activated your phone security setting on “fingerprint unlock“. Means you are unlocking you phone by entering “Pin” or drawing “Pattern“. So first set fingerprint unlock as security system to lock/unlock your phone.
To overcome this problem, go to settings on you phone > security setting > Phone unlock method > Enable fingerprint unlock . When your phone will be set on fingerprint unlock setting , Whatsapp fingerprint lock feature can be activated.
Whatsapp fingerprint not working–
The second error can be that you do not see the fingerprint lock feature on Whatsapp. This may be because you are still using an older version of Whatsapp and have not updated it. You need to update your old version of Whatsapp. But if after updating you are unable to find it out, please backup your chat history and reinstall Whatsapp.
Even after re installation of Whatsapp new version, you are still unable to use it, it may be because your phone is not supporting this feature this time. You have to wait till Whatsapp enable this feature for your mobile model you are using.
